Inter have stepped up in their pursuit to sign Paris Saint-Germain’s Edinson Cavani and also RB Leipzig’s Timo Werner according to a report from Italian broadcaster Sport Mediaset, which was aired a short time ago.

Inter are working on bringing Cavani in on a free transfer and have also set their sights on Werner as Lautaro Martinez appears more and more likely to end up moving to Barcelona in the coming months.

The report goes on to explain that rather than pay Werner’s release clause which will be either €50 million or €60 million depending on if Leipzig win the Bundesliga or not, Inter could offer Valentino Lazaro to RB Leipzig as part of a deal for the German international, who is also a target of Premier League club Liverpool.

Lazaro is currently out on loan at Premier League side Newcastle United and they have an option to buy him outright but if he is not signed then Inter could use him in an attempt to land Werner.
