Former Juventus and Italian national team midfielder Claudio Marchisio has shared his belief that Mauro Icardi could do well at Juventus if he were to join them.

Icardi is currently out on loan at newly crowned French champions Paris Saint-Germain from Inter and recent reports have suggested that Paris Saint-Germain are keen to keep a hold of him past the end of this season.

They have an option to sign him outright for €70 million but will seek a discount, something Inter will seemingly grant them due to wanting to avoid Icardi returning to the club at all costs.

Juventus have a long standing interest in signing the 27-year-old and some reports in the media have suggested that the Bianconeri club could try and do a deal with Paris Saint-Germain.

“I think he would do well because he is a great player, who still has room for improvement. He would certainly find the right environment if he joined Juventus but we will have to wait and see what the transfer market will be like,” Marchisio remarked in an interview with Italian news outlet Fanpage.it.

Whilst on loan in France, Icardi has scored 20 goals and tallied five assists in 31 appearances across all competitions to date.
