Gaetano Castrovilli has insisted that he is entirely focused on doing well at Fiorentina amid ongoing speculation in the media which has seen him linked with moves to several clubs ahead of the upcoming Summer transfer window.

The 23-year-old midfielder has been one of the biggest revelations of the 2019/20 Serie A season and his good performances have went far from unnoticed.

The Italian national team midfielder has been linked with moves to Inter and Juventus as well as the likes of Premier League outfit Everton.

“I’m focusing only on doing well with Fiorentina,” he remarked as part of an interview with The Athletic‘s James Horncastle.

He then went on to discuss what has been a whirlwind season for him.

“It was a dream come true for me to just be called up for the pre-season retreat. I could train with the best players and show the staff what I am worth.

“Everything changed for me between Moena and the tour in the United States. I tried to do everything that the coach asked me too but I certainly did not expect what would happen next.

“Up until March, I would say that this season has all been a dream. I’ve went from Serie B to Serie A and I’ve made my debut in the national team. I’ve found it difficult to hold back the tears.”

This season Castrovilli, who has a contract with Fiorentina through to the end of the 2023/24 season, has made 26 appearances across all competitions to date. In just over 2200 minutes on the park, Castrovilli has scored three goals and has provided two assists for his teammates.
