Paris Saint-Germain star Edinson Cavani has rejected contract offers from several countries outside of Europe due to wanting to continue to play in Europe for a little while longer yet according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

The report explains that the Uruguayan national team striker has knocked back offers from clubs in the United States, China and the United Arab Emirates.

Cavani, whose contract with Paris Saint-Germain is set to run out at the end of next month, has drawn links to a host of European clubs, including Inter, whose fiercest competition appears to be from Newcastle United and Atletico Madrid.

This season the recently turned 33-year-old has made 22 appearances across all competitions to date. In his time on the field, the former Napoli and Palermo player has scored seven goals and has provided a total of three assists for his teammates.
