Radja Nainggolan remains out of Inter’s project at the moment but a return to Inter is not impossible according to a report from Italian news outlet FCInterNews.it.

The former Belgian national team player was deemed to be out of the club’s project this past Summer by club management alongside Mauro Icardi and Ivan Perisic and he was subsequently shipped out on loan to Cagliari for this season.

The chances of Nainggolan remaining with the Sardinian club are very slim given Inter would not like to contribute at all to his salary and his annual €4.6 million salary is an obstacle for Cagliari.

Due to his high salary and fee Inter would need to receieve to avoid making a loss on him, a return is not completely out of the equation.

Antonio Conte has long wanted to manage the former Roma player dating back to the days he was in charge of Juventus and the quality of players available on the transfer market could make Inter’s management change their mind about him too.

The report goes on to add that Nainggolan’s agent is waiting to see what kind of options could present themselves over the course of the coming weeks.
