RB Leipzig manager Julian Nagelsmann has admitted that he does not believe that star man Timo Werner is feeling pressure due to all of the media speculation relating to his future.

The 24-year-old German national team striker has drawn strong links to both Liverpool and Inter ahead of the upcoming Summer transfer window and he would appear destined to leave RB Leipzig in the coming months.

Werner has a variable release clause in his contract with the club, the value of which will be determined by whether they win the Bundesliga or not. If they win it, his release clause will be €60 million but if they do not it will be €50 million.

“I do not have the impression that he is carrying a burden with him but he is a young guy who is sure to sit at home with his wife and ponder whether he will stay here or leave for another club,” Nagelsmann admitted in an interview with German news outlet Sport BILD, as per Italian news outlet FCInter1908.it.

“When the question of a transfer is raised, you are always a little bit distracted. It was no different for me when I was at Hoffenheim. It is more obvious with strikers, because there are phases which they do not score.”

This season Werner, who has a contract with RB Leipzig until the end of the 2022/23 season, has made 38 appearances across all competitions to date. In his time on the park he has scored 30 goals and has also provided a total of 12 assists for his teammates.
