Lokomotiv Moscow will not take up their option to buy on loan midfielder Joao Mario according to a report from Russian daily newspaper Sport-Express, as cited by FCInterNews.it.

The Portuguese national team midfielder joined the Russian capital city outfit on a season long loan from Inter this past Summer and have an option to sign him up on a permanent basis for a sum of €18 million.

The option is there for them to sign him until the end of this month but this report claims that they will not do that thus meaning that the former Sporting CP player will return to Inter once his loan deal expires at the end of June.

Lokomotiv Moscow had tried to extend his loan until the end of the Russian Premier League season but could not strike a deal with Inter.

The 27-year-old has made 15 appearances across all competitions to date, in which he has scored one goal and tallied four assists.
