Joao Mario will return to Inter once his loan deal expires with Lokomotiv Moscow according to a report in today’s print edition of Portuguese daily newspaper A Bola.

The Portuguese national team midfielder joined the Russian Premier League club on a season long loan with a €16 million option to buy attached but Lokomotiv Moscow will not exercise this option.

The former Sporting CP player will return to Inter but his return could be short lived with the report going on to state that Marseille manager Andres Villas Boas would like to bring his compatriot to the club.

The management of the Ligue 1 club have in fact already taken the first steps toward satisfying the demands of their manager.

The 27-year-old, who has a contract with Inter until the end of the 2021/22 season, has made 15 appearances across all competitions to date for the Russian capital city club, in which he has scored one goal and tallied four assists.
