Negotiations between Inter and Barcelona over Lautaro Martinez have come to a halt according to a report from Italian broadcaster Sport Mediaset, which was aired a short time ago.

The two clubs have been in negotiations for some time and the stalemate is largely due to the lack of an agreement over a potential player as part payment, who could be Brazilian midfielder Arthur Melo, but there is no agreement on the overall evaluation.

Inter Sporting Director Piero Ausilio’s recent comments have made Inter’s stance on Lautaro clear but the Nerazzurri know that Lautaro has a desire to join Barcelona.

The report goes on to state that Inter will be able to hold firm with their stance with them set to receive €60 million from Paris Saint-Germain for Mauro Icardi.

In the event that Inter and Barcelona do end up striking a deal over Lautaro, the Nerazzurri could go in for RB Leipzig’s Timo Werner. Alternatively, if unable to sign Werner, they could move for Paris Saint-Germain’s Edinson Cavani, who is set to become a free agent.
