Paris Saint-Germain and Inter are getting closer and closer to agreeing a deal for Mauro Icardi according to a report from the online edition of French news outlet L’Equipe.

Icardi joined the French champions on a season long loan this past Summer and as part of the loan deal Paris Saint-Germain obtained an option to buy him outright for a sum of €70 million.

The two clubs are currently negotiating a deal at a lesser price and the report claims that the two clubs are not far off agreeing on a €55 million upfront fee but the add-ons are currently a sticking point in negotiations.

The 27-year-old, who has already agreed terms with Paris Saint-Germain that will see him sign a four year contract if the two clubs can agree a deal, has made 31 appearances across all competitions to date this term.

In his time on the field the former Sampdoria player has netted a total of 20 goals and has provided a handful of assists for his teammates.
