Inter and Paris Saint-Germain are hard at work trying to reach an agreement over the permanent transfer of Mauro Icardi according to a report from the online edition of Italian daily newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

The clubs are now closer than ever to reaching a deal which will be worth less than the €70 million option to buy Paris Saint-Germain obtained as part of the loan agreement with Inter this past Summer transfer window, thanks to the presence of add-ons.

Once an agreement is reached between the two clubs, Icardi will be contracted to the French capital city club until the end of the 2023/24 season.

Whilst out on loan at the Parc des Princes outfit, the former Inter captain has made 31 appearances across all competitions to date.

In his time on the park, the former Barcelona academy player has scored 20 goals and has provided a handful of assists for his teammates too.
