Inter and Sebastiano Esposito’s representatives are some way apart in contract renewal talks according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

A long term contract extension seemed a certainty a short while ago but that no longer appears to be the case with some distance between what Inter are willing to offer and what Esposito’s representatives want for him.

As per the report, Esposito would like a contract similar to the one that Andrea Pinamonti signed before he had even debuted for the Inter first team.

The current Genoa striker was handed an €800,000 a year deal and Esposito would like similar but Inter are reluctant to give him that.

Inter would prefer to load the contract with add-ons but his representatives believe that this is too risky.

The report goes on to explain that Esposito is more than happy at Inter and in the next meetings an agreement which suits everyone will be sought.
