Inter are set to give Alessandro Bastoni a new five year contract with the club according to a report from Italian news outlet FCInterNews.it.

As part of the new contract, the Italian youth national team defender will receive a salary raise and he will earn €1.5 million annually.

Contract renewal talks began with his agent Tullio Tinti back in January and the final details will be ironed out in the coming weeks.

The report goes on to explain that Inter have knocked back advances from Premier League duo Manchester City and Arsenal for the highly rated 21-year-old, who could be an integral part of Inter’s defence for the years to come.

This season Bastoni has had his first team breakthrough and has massively impressed during his time on the field. He has made 17 appearances across all competitions to date, in which he has scored a single goal and helped the team keep a number of clean sheets.
