Inter sporting director Piero Ausilio said what he said last night regarding Lautaro Martinez, to hammer home to Barcelona that Inter do not need to sell him and if they do it will be on their terms according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

Ausilio made it crystal clear that Inter will only let the 22-year-old depart the club if his €111 million release clause, which has some very specific conditions, is met.

The report from the Milan based newspaper also claims that Ausilio made the comments in a bid to calm the player ahead of the possible resumption of the 2019/20 season.

The Argentine national team player has been heavily linked with a Summer transfer switch to La Liga powerhouses Barcelona and negotiations have been ongoing for some time between the clubs.

Barcelona have already had a €50 million plus two player offer rejected for the former Racing Club player, who has made 31 appearances across all competitions to date this term.

In his time on the park, Lautaro has netted 16 goals and has also provided a total of four assists for his teammates.
