Inter are close to reaching an agreement regarding a new contract for Italian shot stopper Daniele Padelli, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Turin based newspaper Tuttosport.

The report details how the 34-year-old Italian goalkeeper will receive a contract extension with the Nerazzurri soon, with the parties in the final steps of finalising the deal. Padelli will become the third goalkeeper for Inter, ahead of Tommaso Berni, whose contract also expires at the end of this season.

The 34-year-old Italian found more regular playing time than he was expecting this season after club captain and number one Samir Handanovic suffered a finger injury. Padelli has made six appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 540 minutes. In that time, he has conceded six goals and kept two clean sheets. He has been with Inter since 2017, but has only made eight total appearances for the Nerazzurri.
