Inter and their coach Antonio Conte are keen to keep Chilean forward Alexis Sanchez in Milan for another season, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Turin based newspaper Tuttosport.

The report details how the 31-year-old Chilean forward has been on loan at Inter from Manchester United this season but has struggled to make a significant impact in Milan in that time.

Sanchez has made 15 appearances across all competitions so far this season but has only scored one goal and provided three assists, struggling with injuries and inconsistent playing time.

Inter are interested in keeping Sanchez for another season, the report continues, should the player impress in the remaining games of this season.

However, a problem would be his €12 million wages, which are currently paid in part by Manchester United, so a new agreement with the Red Devils would be needed. The Nerazzurri are looking for a new striker and Sanchez could fill the hole in the squad that Dries Mertens is no longer being considered for.
