A report from Italian media outlet Corriere.it has suggested that Inter will still sell Lautaro Martinez to Barcelona before signing Edinson Cavani from Paris Saint-Germain.

The report details how the Nerazzurri haven’t completely shut down the idea of the 22-year-old being sold to the Blaugrana in the summer. Inter director Piero Ausilio only stated that the Milanese club would accept the player’s release clause of €111 million but didn’t completely close off a possible deal.

The Nerazzurri will then look to replace Lautaro with Edinson Cavani, the report continues, despite the fact that the club are still evaluating the idea of keeping Alexis Sanchez beyond this season. The PSG forward could be signed on a free transfer, but his wages would be expensive, which could push away Inter.

Lautaro, who is contracted to the Nerazzurri until 2023, has made 31 appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 2437 minutes. In that time, the 22-year-old has scored 16 goals and provided four assists.
