Former Juventus and Inter coach Marcello Lippi discussed the remaining title race and the matches to be played behind closed doors in an interview with Italian radio broadcaster Radiosei earlier today.

“Inter are further back in the league table but if they win the recovered game against Sampdoria, they are involved and Juve and Lazio have the direct clash still to play. In my opinion it’s a three-way race.”

Lippi also commented on the fact that the remaining games of the season have to be played behind closed doors.

“It’s a sacrifice we have to accept.”

Serie A is set to restart on the 20th June, after the completion of the Coppa Italia. The Nerazzurri are currently nine points behind league leaders Juventus and eight points behind second place Lazio, although they do have a game in hand after their game against Sampdoria was postponed.

The Nerazzurri are also still involved in both the Europa League and Coppa Italia, giving coach Antonio Conte three different goals to focus on. The Milanese club are hoping to keep a hold of their star striker Lautaro Martinez, who is heavily wanted by Spanish giants Barcelona. The Blaugrana are keen to sign the 22-year-old but cannot afford to pay his €111 million release clause.
