PSG To Pay Inter Additional €15M If Mauro Icardi Sold On To An Italian Team

Paris Saint-Germain will have to pay Inter an extra €15 million should they sell Mauro Icardi to an Italian club, according to a report from Italian media outlet Calciomercato.com today.

The report details how the French club will buy Icardi for €50 million plus €8 million in add-ons, a slight discount on the €70 million fee agreed upon last summer. In the talks last summer, the €15 million re-sell clause was also introduced, to stop PSG from simply buying Icardi and selling him to rivals Juventus for a quick profit. This isn’t an issue, as the Parisians would prefer to keep the 27-year-old, in part due to his strong performances this season under coach Thomas Tuchel.

Icardi has made 31 appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 1958 minutes. In that time, he has scored 20 goals and provided four assists, but has had relationship issues with Tuchel, who has complained about the player’s professionalism and weight.
