Barcelona are incredibly keen to sign Inter striker Lautaro Martinez and will not give up in their attempts to sign the player, despite the Nerazzurri’s insistence that they will only accept €111 million in cash, according to a report from Spanish media outlet Marca.com earlier today.

The report details how the Blaugrana are optimistic that they can sign the 22-year-old Argentine striker and tie him to the club with a five-year contract.

They believe that the player has a desire to play at the club alongside compatriot Lionel Messi. Lautaro has declined a contract offer from Inter as he still has three years left in his current contract and would be happy with a move away.

Barcelona don’t plan to pay his €111 million release clause, the report continues, and instead are hoping to offer Inter multiple players in exchange, but only after the release clause in his contract expires on the 7th July. The Catalan club believe that his value will drop after that expiry due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
