Frank Trimboli, Base Soccer’s agent who handled Christian Eriksen’s transfer to Inter from Tottenham in the January transfer window, discussed the transfer market and how he hopes more players move from the Premier League to Serie A in an interview with Italian media outlet Sky Sports Italia earlier today.

“I hope the transfer of players from the Premier League to Italy will continue. With the arrivals of Romelu Lukaku, Alexis Sanchez and Eriksen having done well, there is this desire for players to go to other countries as well.”

He also discussed how he hopes Serie A returns to being one of the most important leagues in Europe.

“Now the will of the teams will count for a lot, because the players often consider the desire for new challenges but now the players values will change, and I don’t think the clubs intend to pay certain amounts. In recent years Serie A has also been improving on various aspects. I hope we can go back to the way we were before.”

The 28-year-old Eriksen joined the Nerazzurri from Spurs in the January transfer window in a deal worth around €20 million. Contracted to the club until 2024, the Dane has struggled to settle so far in Milan, only scoring once and assisting once in eight appearances for the side, where he looked a little lost and sluggish.

Inter coach Antonio Conte has a lot of respect for the Premier League and the players there, and so is prepared to trust in Eriksen and give him time to adapt. Other players acquired from England have already proved successful, like Romelu Lukaku and Ashley Young.
