If Barcelona are unable to reach a deal to sign Lautaro Martinez this Summer, they could try and reach a deal with Inter to sign him next Summer according to a report from Italian news outlet TuttoMercatoWeb.

The 22-year-old Argentine national team forward is believed to be their number one transfer target and they have struggled whilst negotiating with Inter.

The report explains that there is two ways which Barcelona could acquire the former Racing Club player. The first way is by paying his €111 million release clause and the second is by offering a big cash sum plus a counterpart who would be important in Inter’s team.

If unable to sign him in the coming months, they could get a deal in place which would see them sign him next Summer instead.

In the meantime, Inter continue to seek out potential replacements for Lautaro but Alexandre Lacazette is no longer an option being considered by Inter.

The Frenchman could sign a contract extension with Arsenal and his lack of goals this season has far from convinced Inter about him.

The report goes on to add that Inter management very much like Paris Saint-Germain’s Edinson Cavani who is a target regardless of what happens with Lautaro but his salary poses an issue with Inter only prepared to give him 75% of what he currently earns.
