Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia transfer market expert Gianluca Di Marzio has shared his belief that anything can still happen with Inter striker Lautaro Martinez despite Inter sporting director Piero Ausilio’s recent comments.

The highly rated 22-year-old Argentine national team forward has been heavily linked with a move to Barcelona ahead of the upcoming Summer transfer window and Ausilio has recently made it clear that Inter are in no rush to sell him and the only way he will leave the club is if his €111 million release clause is triggered.

“The game is very open, despite the Ausilio’s statement. Until Inter has found a replacement, they will not give the definitive OK to Lautaro’s transfer, who will also have to expose himself, to make it clear that he wants to go to Barcelona,” Di Marzio explained whilst present in the Sky Sport Italia studios yesterday evening.

This season Lautaro, who has a contract with Inter until the end of the 2022/23 season, has made 31 appearances across all competitions to date. In his time on the park, the former Racing Club player has scored a total of 16 goals and has also provided four assists for his teammates,
