Inter have sped up in their pursuit of Arsenal striker Alexandre Lacazette according to a report from the online edition of Spanish news outlet Mundo Deportivo.

The Frenchman has become Inter’s primary option to replace Lautaro Martinez, should he depart the club in the coming months amid ongoing links to La Liga giants Barcelona.

The report goes on to explain that Lacazette has become Inter’s primary option after moves for other potential replacements, namely RB Leipzig’s Timo Werner and Paris Saint-Germain’s Edinson Cavani, for Lautaro were deemed unfeasible.

The 29-year-old, who formerly played for Ligue 1 side Lyon, has been with Arsenal since the Summer of 2017 and has a contract with them until the end of the 2021/22 season.

This season Lacazette has made 26 appearances across all competitions to date. In his time on the park, the 16-time French international has scored nine goals and has also provided three assists for his teammates.
