RB Leipzig’s Timo Werner has become Chelsea’s top transfer target as they look to bolster their attacking options in the upcoming transfer window according to a report in today’s print edition of British daily newspaper The Daily Mail.

Chelsea have set their sights on the prolific German national team forward after baulking at Lyon’s €80 million asking price for Moussa Dembele.

Werner has a release clause in his current contract with the Red Bull energy drink backed club which is worth in the region of €60 million and it is due to this release clause that Chelsea favour a move for him over the former Celtic star.

The 24-year-old has also been heavily linked with a move to fellow Premier League side Liverpool in recent weeks and has also been linked with Inter but the report goes on to recall that Inter sporting director Piero Ausilio has already dismissed the possibility of him arriving.
