Lazio sporting director Igli Tare has confirmed that Lazio are in a position where they do not have to sell top midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.

The Spanish born Serbian national team player has long drawn links with moves away from the Italian capital city club with Inter and Juventus among the long term admirers.

“We certainly don’t need to sell right now. I do not think we will lower the price of first-rate players,” Tare began an interview with Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia earlier on today.

Despite stating they do not need to sell, Tare has confirmed that any offers received will be evaluated.

“Milinkovic-Savic has a relationship with the club and city that will never die. It is a strong bond that has grown over the years.

“The wishes of the player must be understood and we will analyse any offers without any pressure and for the good of both parties. If both can be satisfied, offers will be considered but otherwise we will be happy for him to stay with us.”

Milinkovic-Savic is widely regarded as one of the best midfielder currently plying his trade in Italy and he has also been linked to the likes of Manchester United, Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain too.

This season the 25-year-old has made 31 appearances across all competitions to date. In his time on the park, Milinkovic-Savic, who is under contract through to the end of the 2023/24 season, has scored five goals and has provided a total of seven assists for his teammates.
