Brescia president and owner Massimo Cellino has shared his belief that Radja Nainggolan could return to Roma in the upcoming transfer window.

Nainggolan is currently out on loan at Cagliari from Inter and is facing an uncertain future but Cellino, who took Nainggolan to Cagliari first time round, thinks that the former Belgian national team midfielder could be headed back to the Italian capital city, where he was at his best.

“It is difficult not to love him, the last time that we saw each other he embraced me tightly,” Cellino remarked as part of an interview with Italian daily newspaper Corriere dello Sport which appeared in today’s print edition.

“In my opinion he will go back to Roma, it is his dream, he was struck by the city, by the environment. Radja is capable of giving you everything.”

32-year-old Nainggolan, who has a contract with Inter until the end of the 2021/22 season, has made 24 appearances across all competitions to date this term for Cagliari. In just shy of 2000 minutes on the park, he has scored five goals and has tallied six assists.

Since joining Inter in the Summer of 2018 from Roma, he has made 36 appearances across all competitions to date, in which he has scored seven goals and tallied three assists.
