Inter and club captain Samir Handanovic have reached an agreement over a one year contract extension according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.
The Slovenian will sign an extension which will tie him down at the club until the end of the 2021/22 season and before his contract expires, the report goes on to explain that he has a great desire to win some silverware with the club.
The veteran shot-stopper joined Inter back in 2012 from fellow Serie A side Udinese and has been virtually ever present since but silverware has always eluded him.
The report goes on to explain that he will do what he can to overturn the result from the first leg of the Coppa Italia semi final against Napoli, which he missed due to a hand injury.
It also goes on to add that Handanovic will remain the club’s number one goalkeeper and will be backed-up by Ionut Andrei Radu whilst current back-up Daniele Padelli will become third choice.
