Valentino Lazaro will have the chance to decide where his future will lie according to a report from Italian news outlet TuttoMercatoWeb.

The Austrian national team defender joined Newcastle United on loan with an option to buy set at €22 million in the most recent January transfer window from Inter. If Newcastle United trigger that option it will be up to the player to decide if he wishes to join them permanently or return to Inter, effectively having a veto power over the transfer.

Lazaro joined Inter in a €20 million deal from Bundesliga outfit Hertha Berlin last Summer but failed to nail down a place in Antonio Conte’s side in the first half of the season, hence why he was loaned out to The Magpies.

This season the 24-year-old has made 16 appearances across all competitions to date between Inter and Newcastle United.

In his time on the pitch, the former RB Salzburg player has scored one goal and provided two assists for his teammates.
