Russian football agent Dmitry Selyuk has slammed Lokomotiv Moscow over their decision to not take up their option to sign on loan Joao Mario on a permanent basis.

The Portuguese national team midfielder joined the Russian Premier League side this past Summer from Inter on a season long loan with an €18 million option to buy attached but this option will not be exercised and the player is set to return to Inter.

“How can you sign a player guaranteeing him €6 million gross a year and let him go now this despite Joao Mario being a normal player. Not being normal is why he was brought to Lokomotiv,” Selyuk remarked in an interview with the online edition of Russian based news outlet Sovetsky Sport.

Since his arrival in the Russian capital city, the former Sporting CP player has made 15 appearances across all competitions to date, in which he has scored one goal and provided four assists for his teammates.

The Euro 2016 winner joined Inter back in the Summer of 2016 but very seldom performed to expectations. He has represented Inter 69 times, in which he has scored four goals and provided 13 assists.
