Samir Handanovic extending his contract with Inter is now a formality according to a report from Italia broadcaster Sport Mediaset which was aired a short time ago.
The Inter club captain is set to extend his current deal with the club by a further season which will contract him to the club until the end of the 2021/22 season.
The contract renewal allows Inter to think about life after the Slovenian a little more calmly and the report goes on to explain that Inter have set their sights on bringing in Udinese’s Juan Musso to initially be his deputy before succeeding him.
The Argentine national team shot-stopper has a €35 million release clause in his contract but this does not bother Inter chief executive Giuseppe ‘Beppe’ Marotta who knows that the club need to spend money if they wish to have quality players.
This season the 26-year-old has kept nine clean sheets in 27 appearances across all competitions to date.
