Joao Mario will remain on loan at Lokomotiv Moscow until the end of July according to a report from Italian broadcaster Sport Mediaset, which was aired a short time ago.

The Inter midfielder joined the Russian Premier League side on a season long loan this past Summer and the loan was due to expire at the end of this month but the loan has been extended by a further month.

The report explains that the agreement has come with thanks to Inter sporting director Piero Ausilio and Joao Mario’s good relationship with one another.

Lokomotiv Moscow obtained an option to buy the player outright as part of the initial loan but various reports have suggested that they have no intention of taking up this option.

Whilst in the Russian capital city, Joao Mario has made 15 appearances across all competitions to date, in which he has scored one goal and provided four assists for his teammates.
