Italian media outlet Gazzetta dello Sport have shared an excerpt of their upcoming interview with Brescia starlet Sandro Tonali, in which the player has shared his belief in himself that he can make it to the top.

“I know that with the right sacrifices, I can reach the top of the world,” the youngster explained in the interview which will be published in full in Gazzetta dello Sport’s weekly newspaper supplement Sportweek tomorrow.

“I haven’t achieved half of what I have in mind, but I feel good enough to make it.”

The 20-year-old was also asked about the continuous comparisons that have been made between himself and legendary former Italian national team midfielder Andrea Pirlo.

Ahead of the upcoming transfer window, Tonali has been heavily linked with a whole array of clubs, including Inter, Juventus and Barcelona.

“I’m not his heir. To begin with, I don’t have his long, millimetre precise, through balls. And I do envy him.”

As per recent reports in the media, Inter are currently leading the race to sign him and some reports have stated that there is already an agreement in principle over personal terms between the parties.

This season Tonali has made 24 appearances across all competitions to date, in which he has scored one goal and provided five assists for his teammates.
