Romelu Lukaku is just four goals shy of matching his personal record for goals scored in a season a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Tuttosport has highlighted.

His personal record stands at 27 goals in a single season, a tally he achieved during the 2017/18 season at Manchester United.

The Inter striker has 23 goals in 35 appearances across all competitions to date this term and with at least 15 more games to play (13 league games, one Coppa Italia game and one, maybe two, Europa League games depending on what is decided), he stands a good chance of matching if not bettering his personal record.

Lukaku joined Inter in a club record €65 million transfer deal from Manchester United this past Summer and is the highest paid player in Inter history.

The Belgian national team player, who has a contract with the club until the end of the 2023/24 season, has struck up a solid partnership with Lautaro Martinez, a partnership which Inter manager Antonio Conte is bound to heavily rely upon in the remainder of the season.
