Today marks the fourth anniversary of the Suning group’s takeover of Inter, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Turin based newspaper Tuttosport.
The report details how the Chinese company paid €128 million for 68.55% of the club’s shares on the 6th June 2016. In that time the Zhang family has invested about €700 million into the Nerazzurri, creating even more ambitious projects for the future, from a new stadium to important and valuable sponsors. Despite that, there have been no trophy wins in the last four years.
The Suning group have done a good job of turning the club around since their takeover, the report continues, visible with their continued presence in the Champions League now thanks to Luciano Spalletti’s work.
These results were needed for the club to invest in stars like Romelu Lukaku and Antonio Conte, which in turned have helped to attract more exciting players to the club like Christian Eriksen.
