Inter forward Alexis Sanchez may not be eligible to play for Manchester United after his loan deal with the Nerazzurri expires on the 31st June, according to a report from English tabloid the Daily Mail earlier today.

The report details how the 31-year-old Chilean forward joined the Nerazzurri on loan from the Red Devils last summer. It was a simple dry loan and Inter have no intention of signing the player permanently, in part due to his incredibly high wages, and so he will return to England when his loan deal expires, at the end of June.

Inter could still reach an agreement with Manchester United to keep Sanchez until the end of the season, the report continues, which would allow the 31-year-old to finish out the season, rather than sit on the sidelines in England. Sanchez is in the same situation as English defender Chris Smalling, who is currently on loan at Roma in the same boat as his former teammate. The Premier League haven’t come to a final decision yet.
