Former Inter midfielder Wesley Sneijder has shared his hope to see Inter win the Coppa Italia this season ahead of Inter’s Coppa Italia semi final second leg against Napoli on Saturday.

“I hope Inter will advance and win the cup. I think the time to win has arrived,” he explained in an interview with Italian daily newspaper Il Mattino, which appeared in yesterday’s print edition.

The Dutchman then shared his belief that Inter have little chance of winning the Serie A title this term due to how far they find themselves behind current league leaders Juventus.

As things stand, Juventus currently have a nine point advantage over the Nerazzurri. Inter have 54 points to their name after 25 games played whilst Juventus have 63 points after 26 games played.

“There’s very little to do in Serie A. Juventus continue as clear favourites to win the title. They have the best team and develop every season.

“You think their run is over but they manage to bring in new players who make the difference and find the right incentives to continue winning.”

Sneijder joined Inter in the Summer of 2009 from Real Madrid and spent the next three and a half years with the club before departing for Turkish Super Lig outfit Galatsaray in January 2013.

During his stint with the Nerazzurri, the former Ajax player made 116 appearances across all competitions in which he scored 22 goals and provided 35 assists for his teammates.
