Chelsea’s signing of Timo Werner could lead to Inter signing Olivier Giroud according to a report from the online edition of French news outlet L’Equipe.

Despite rising in the pecking order prior to football being brought to a halt due to the Coronavirus pandemic, Werner’s signing has pushed Giroud back down the pecking order at the Premier League club.

Inter, Lazio, Roma and Borussia Dortmund have all shown an interest in signing the former Montpellier striker, who appears almost certain to leave Chelsea in the coming months.

Chelsea manager Frank Lampard would not be opposed to letting Giroud go, despite the fact the club just exercised an option to extend his contract by a further season.

This season Giroud has been a bit part player for the Blues, who he joined in the Summer of 2018 from Arsenal. He has made just 13 appearances across all competitions, in which he has scored three goals.
