Inter are close to extending Marcelo Brozovic’s contract with the club according to a report from Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, which was aired earlier on today.

The Croatian national team midfielder has become an absolutely pivotal player for Inter in recent seasons and his performances have not gone unnoticed with him having been linked with a potential move to Premier League outfit Liverpool.

Brozovic is currently under contract with Inter until the end of the 2021/22 season and the report explains that Inter hope to extend his deal by a further season until 2023.

Inter are also prepared to give the former Dinamo Zagreb player a salary increase as part of a new deal and reports elsewhere in the media have suggested that Inter wish to remove his €60 million release clause that is present in his current deal.

This season the 27-year-old has made 33 appearances across all competitions to date, in which he has scored three goals and provided five assists.
