Inter manager Antonio Conte wants to keep a hold of Alexis Sanchez past the end of this season according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.
The Chilean national team forward is currently on loan at Inter from Premier League outfit Manchester United and Conte has given the club the go ahead to pursue the former Barcelona and Arsenal player on a permanent deal.
It is now up to Inter’s management to try and reach a deal with Manchester United over Sanchez, whose future appears destined to be far away from Old Trafford, where he never lived up to expectations following his arrival in January 2018.
Since his arrival at Inter on a season long loan, Sanchez has not performed to expectations either but has clearly done enough to impress former Italian national team boss Conte. In 16 appearances across all competitions to date, Sanchez has scored one goal and provided three assists.
