Stefan de Vrij has reflected upon Inter’s most recent Derby della Madonnina success over city rivals AC Milan and discussed how manager Antonio Conte was during the half time interval.
Inter went into half time trailing their rivals 2-0 but in one of the best second half performances from Inter in a long time, Inter overturned the result and ended up smashing the Rossoneri 4-2.
“In the first half AC Milan put us in difficulty. We found ourselves behind but the coach remained calm at the interval. He helped us to score immediately. We believed in ourselves and it was also great for me to score, obviously,” the Dutch national team defender explained in an interview with sports broadcaster DAZN, earlier on today.
de Vrij also shared his thoughts on Inter’s last Serie A game, which was a 2-0 defeat to arch rivals Juventus back in March, prior to the Serie A season being brought to a halt due to the global Coronavirus crisis.
“It was different playing without fans, even if we have to get used to it for the next period. Unfortunately in that game they deservedly won, they were superior to us.”
The 28-year-old, who joined Inter in 2018 and has a contract with the club until 2023, has made 31 appearances across all competitions to date. In his time on the par, he has scored two goals and tallied four assists.
