Stefano Sensi has picked up an injury in training ahead of this weekend’s Serie A match at home to Sampdoria according to a report from Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, which was aired a short time ago.

The Italian national team midfielder has sustained a thigh injury and his condition will be evaluated by club medical staff in the coming hours.

This is just the latest in a long line of injury set-backs for the 24-year-old midfielder this term and it is not the first time that he has suffered an injury to his right thigh either.

Sensi arrived at Inter on a season long fee paying loan from Sassuolo with an option to buy for €20 million, an option reports state Inter have every intention of taking up.

This season the former Cesena player has made 18 appearances across all competitions to date, in which he has scored three goals and provided four assists for his teammates.
