Inter have decided that they will use Ionut Andrei Radu as number one goalkeeper Samir Handanovic’s backup according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Tuttosport.

With Handanovic getting on a bit and having just a year left to run on his contract with the club, Inter have began to prepare for life after him and for a few months now they have been looking around at potential replacements for him.

Inter wanted a goalkeeper who would initially come in as Handanovic’s backup before eventually succeeding him but rather than spending money on this player, Inter are going to make the most of a player already on their books in young Romanian Radu.

The Nerazzurri club had seemingly shown a keen interest in signing Parma’s Luigi Sepe and Udinese’s Juan Musso but are instead set to show their faith in the talents of Radu, who is currently out on loan at Parma.
