Sampdoria will be without club captain and talisman Fabio Quagliarella for this weekend’s Serie A match away to Inter according to a report from Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, which was aired a short time ago.
The veteran striker picked up an injury in a training match in the past few days and was doubtful for the match and having not trained today, the report explains that Sampdoria manager Claudio Ranieri will not risk him against the Nerazzurri on Sunday night.
Quagliarella’s absence will be a huge blow for La Samp. The 37-year-old has netted 10 goals and tallied four assists in 22 appearances across all competitions to date for Sampdoria, who are teetering just above the relegation zone in Serie A.
The Genoa based outfit head into the match with Inter currently sitting in 17th place just one point outside of the relegation zone whilst Inter head into the match in third position.
