Italian midfielder Roberto Gagliardini will replace the injured Marcelo Brozovic in the Inter starting lineup for tomorrow Serie A clash against Sampdoria, according to a report from Italian media outlet Gazzetta dello Sport earlier today.

The report details how the 26-year-old Italian midfielder, who is contracted to the Milanese club until 2023, will replace the injured Brozovic, who suffered a slight muscle injury in a training session yesterday. The Croatian will miss both tomorrow’s match against Sampdoria as well as next week’s game against Sassuolo, with a possible return in time for the game against Parma.

The alternative to Gagliardini is Spanish midfielder Borja Valero, the report continues, and no final decision has been made.

The 26-year-old former Atalanta midfielder has made 16 appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 1018 minutes. In that time, he has scored two goals and provided two assists, missing a large part of the season due to an ankle fracture.
