Inter coach Antonio Conte has decided to replace the injured Marcelo Brozovic with Roberto Gagliardini for tonight’s game against Sampdoria, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Milano based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.
The report details how the 27-year-old Croatian midfielder suffered a muscle injury in training earlier this week, which will keep him out of tonight’s game against Sampdoria and Wednesday night’s clash against Sassuolo. The Nerazzurri are hoping that Brozovic will be fit in time for next weekend’s match against Parma. Other injured midfielders include 24-year-old Italian Stefano Sensi and 28-year-old Uruguayan Matias Vecino.
Gagliardini will take Brozovic’s place in the starting 11, the report continues, giving the Italian the chance to prove himself to the Lecce born coach. The 26-year-old former Atalanta midfielder will line up alongside Nicolo Barella in the midfield, in the new 3-4-1-2 formation. Gagliardini has made 16 appearances across all competitions so far this season, scoring two goals and providing two assists in that time.
