Former Inter striker Alessandro Altobelli remembered his friend and Nerazzurri legend Mario Corso in a post on his Instagram page yesterday.

Corso passed away in hospital peacefully yesterday morning at the age of 78. The Italian was a core part of Helenio Herrera’s Grande Inter side and spent 16 years of his career in Milan with the Nerazzurri. He won four league titles, two European Cups and two Intercontinental Cups in that time, before spending the last two years of his career with Genoa.

Altobelli posted a photo of himself and Corso alongside the caption: “We remember you like this Mario, for us Interisti you are immortal, your socks down. Mario thanks for teaching us how to play football, now you can go back to your master, R.I.P. God’s left foot!”
