Inter midfielder Roberto Gagliardini has been slapped with a fine from Sports Judge Gerardo Mastrandea for his dive in yesterday’s 2-1 win over Sampdoria.

The Italian national team player went to ground unchallenged in the final few minutes of the encounter at San Siro and referee Maurizio Mariani was quick to punish him with a yellow card.

Mastrandea has further punished Gagliardini by issuing him with a fine of €3000 for his simulation during the match.

The 26-year-old was given a rare chance to start as he was drafted in for Marcelo Brozovic, who picked up an injury in training the day before the match.

The former Atalanta player, who has a contract with Inter until the end of the 2022/23 season, has made 17 appearances across all competitions to date this term.

During his time on the park, which totals just over 1100 minutes, he has scored two goals and he has provided just as many assists.
