Barcelona are having great difficulty when it comes to meeting Inter’s demands for Lautaro Martinez according to a report in today’s print edition of Italian daily newspaper Corriere della Sera.

Barcelona are dealing with financial issues at the moment and are also being restricted by La Liga, who are keeping a close eye on club finances, particularly those who have asked players to take pay cuts, like Barcelona did.

La Liga are only allowing such clubs to operate on the transfer market using funds raised through player sales and seeing as Inter want either €90 million plus a player or his €111 million release clause paid, Barcelona will need to raise that money through sales or risk having to postpone their move for the 22-year-old.

The Argentine national team forward has been in good form this season, which has been his first as a starter. He has formed a formidable partnership with Romelu Lukaku and in 33 appearances across all competitions to date, he has scored 17 goals and provided four assists for his teammates.
