The funeral of the late Mario Corso took place this morning in Milan at the basilica of Sant’Ambrogio and a number of people with Inter connections were in attendance according to a report from Italian news outlet FCInterNews.it.

Inter vice president Javier Zanetti was present at the funeral and accompanied by his wife Paula. Gabriele Oriali, Massimo Moratti, Milly Moratti, Bedy Moratti, Giuseppe Bergomi, Ivan Cordoba, Mauro Bellugi, Luis Suarez, Evaristo Beccalossi, Carlo Muraro, Giuseppe Marotta and Roberto Samaden were all also present for the service.

Members of Inter’s Curva Nord gathered outside of the basilica and paid tribute to the Inter legend by unfurling a banner which read: “Inter in your heart until the end, Goodbye Mario”.

Corso, who passed away this past weekend at the age of 78, is widely regarded as one of Inter’s greatest ever players and made over 500 appearances during a trophy filled 16 year spell with the club.
